A lakeside path, steep summit climb and exposed alpine route are different outings. Look at the named route’s grading, ascent, descent and current condition before choosing it. A mountain lift can shorten the approach without making the walk easy.
Choose for the least experienced walker and keep an easier alternative. Wear shoes with grip and carry water, food, layers and a saved map. Check the forecast and last return transport. If footing or weather deteriorates, turn back early; reaching a summit is not a requirement for a good day.
