Ride the cogwheel train from Wilderswil to Schynige Platte, then spend some time in the alpine garden. Take a closer look at the plants growing here, with Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau across the valley. Add a local walk if you want more time on foot.
Pick that walk from the trail map before setting off, and check the last train down. The railway operates seasonally. First’s Cliff Walk is a different outing, reached from Grindelwald. The route from Schynige Platte to First via Faulhorn is a full mountain hike, requiring fitness, suitable conditions and enough time for the descent.
