Schynige Platte is reached by mountain railway from Wilderswil; First has a gondola approach from Grindelwald. For a relaxed sightseeing day, choose one. They are not neighbouring viewpoints that a short walk conveniently joins, and visiting both needs separate transport planning.
The high route between Schynige Platte and First is a full mountain hike via the Faulhorn area. It needs fitness, suitable conditions and enough time for the final descent. At First, check the Cliff Walk separately from the hiking routes. Confirm each railway’s season and last service before committing to the day.
