A ski day, a prepared winter walk and a snowshoe outing need different routes and equipment. Start with the activity your group wants, then choose an area and check its current report. Snow in a photograph or an operating lift does not mean every piste or path is open.
Read the map and participation requirements before buying tickets or renting equipment. Keep beginners on suitable terrain and arrange instruction when needed. Check the last return connection and pack for the mountain, even when the valley feels mild. Closed routes are not shortcuts.
